The Hydra-Kool KGH-OF-30-S is a 29-inch self-contained open-front grab-and-go merchandiser with 15.9 cubic feet of refrigerated display capacity. This is the most compact model in the KGH-OF series, fitting into narrow endcap positions or tight convenience store aisles where a full-width case would not work. Four shelves of grab-and-go product sit behind an open front that lets customers pick up drinks, sandwiches, and snacks without slowing down. The case holds 36°F to 40°F on 115V hard-wired power drawing 20.7 amps, and it can be multiplexed with other KGH-OF units for longer runs.
Open Front Design with Pull-Down Night Curtain and Tempered Side Glass
The open front lets customers grab beverages, sandwiches, salads, and snacks without opening a door, which keeps traffic moving during peak hours. When the store closes, a pull-down night curtain seals the front opening to hold temperature overnight and reduce energy use. Tempered side glass panels give shoppers a clear view of the display from the aisle, drawing attention to products they might otherwise walk past. For stores that want a cleaner look or need to butt cases together, solid or full-view end panels are available as an option.
Forced Air Refrigeration with Digital Controller and Slide-Out Condensing Unit
Forced air refrigeration circulates cold air from top to bottom across every shelf, holding product between 36°F and 40°F without the dead spots that can develop in gravity-fed open cases. Temperature and defrost cycles are managed by a digital controller, and a digital thermometer on the case lets you confirm conditions at a glance. The self-contained condensing unit slides out from the base for service access, so a technician can clean coils or check refrigerant levels without pulling the entire case away from the wall. A removable condensate evaporating pan collects moisture and is easy to pull out and clean. The system uses R404a refrigerant and CFC-free injected foam insulation.
Height-Adjustable Tiltable Shelves with Product Stops and LED Lighting
Four adjustable shelves let you set spacing to match your product mix, whether that is tall juice bottles on one level and short yogurt cups on another. The shelves tilt forward to angle product toward the customer, and product stops on every shelf keep containers from sliding off the front edge when customers reach in. LED strips in the canopy and under the shelves light product from multiple angles so labels and packaging stay readable across the full depth of the case. LEDs generate less heat than fluorescent alternatives, which helps the compressor maintain temperature without working overtime.
The KGH-OF-30-S measures 29.2" wide x 31.5" deep x 76.8" high and weighs 408 lbs without crating. The exterior front panel is silver colored PVC coated steel, the interior is PVC coated steel in gray, and the end panels are foamed polystyrene in black with a black steel kick plate at the base. The unit is hard-wired (no plug). Optional upgrades include stainless steel interior and exterior panels, solid or full-view end panels, additional shelves, a joining kit for multiplexing, partition dividers, price tag molding, and casters that add 4-3/8" to the overall height. Stainless steel adjustable legs (5-1/8" to 7-5/8") are also available.
