The Manitowoc RNF1020C Nugget Ice Machine
The Manitowoc RNF1020C is the 22 in. wide QuietQube remote nugget ice machine head, built for self-serve beverage stations, dispensing operations, and smoothie programs that want chewable nugget ice without a compressor running in the service area. It produces up to 1,025 lb of nugget ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water and still delivers 840 lb at the 90°F/70°F rating point, using 4.53 kWh and 12 gal of potable water per 100 lb of ice, so a bank of dispensers can draw steadily through peak meal periods from one narrow head. This is a head only: the RCUF-1200 condensing unit, interconnecting refrigerant lines, ice deflector, and storage bin or dispenser are all ordered separately, it will not accept the AuCS accessory, and operations that cannot run refrigerant lines to a remote condensing unit are better served by a self-contained nugget machine. Plan on a 115V circuit for the head at just 2.9 amps minimum circuit ampacity, a separate 208-230V supply for the condensing unit, a 3/8 in. water inlet, and a 3/4 in. drain.
Bite-Size Nugget Ice with an 85% Ice-to-Water Ratio
Nugget ice comes off the evaporator in small pieces from 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. in width and length, with an 85% ice-to-water ratio that delivers maximum cooling with minimal drink dilution. The soft, chewable texture dispenses cleanly, which is why Manitowoc points this head at beverage applications, dispensing, smoothies, and cold therapy. It pairs with any 22 in. Servend beverage dispenser; verify with the dispenser manufacturer that the correct agitator and ice deflector kit for nugget ice dispensing is included with your dispenser purchase.
Rated Output at 70°F and 90°F Rating Points
Manitowoc publishes output at both industry rating points: 1,025 lb per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, and 840 lb in the harsher 90°F air and 70°F water condition, so you can size the system on the room you actually have rather than a best-case number. The head holds spec across a 50°F to 100°F ambient range and 45°F to 90°F incoming water, with ice-making water pressure between 20 and 70 psi.
QuietQube Remote System with Condensing Unit Sold Separately
The QuietQube system splits refrigeration away from the ice-making head: the remote condensing unit, interconnecting refrigerant lines, head section, ice deflector, and ice storage unit, whether storage bin, countertop, or floor-standing dispenser, are all ordered separately. It is designed as a Manitowoc system around the RCUF condensing unit and is not for use with any other ice machine or remote condenser brand. The head and condensing unit are powered independently of each other, each with its own electrical connection.
Refrigerant Line Runs to 100 Ft with a 35 Ft Rise Limit
The RCUF-1200 condensing unit runs on 208-230V, 60 Hz service in single or three phase, rejects 7,680 BTU per hour on average and 14,000 at peak with a 1.5 HP nominal compressor, and operates from -20°F to 120°F, so it can sit outdoors through winter and summer. Refrigerant lines can run up to 100 ft, rise up to 35 ft above the head, or drop 15 ft below it; a rise over 20 ft requires the S-Trap Kit K-00172, ordered separately, and the standard RC-51 line set covers 50 ft.
Stainless Steel Head with Modular Bin and Dispenser Options
A stainless steel exterior gives the head a clean, modern look for self-serve environments, high-load maintenance-free bearings add reliability under continuous production, and the evaporator is designed for maximum ice quality and operating life. At 195 lb shipping weight and 22.00 in. wide by 23.62 in. deep by 27.36 in. tall, the head sets on a separately purchased storage unit such as the D-570 bin shown on the spec sheet.
