The Manitowoc RNF2000C Nugget Ice Machine
The Manitowoc RNF2000C is the high-capacity QuietQube remote nugget ice machine head, built for hotels, healthcare campuses, and high-volume dispensing operations that go through nugget ice by the ton and want the refrigeration noise somewhere else. It produces up to 1,915 lb of nugget ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, holds 1,475 lb at the 90°F/70°F rating point, and uses 4.42 kWh and 12 gal of potable water per 100 lb of ice from a head only 30 in. wide, so back-to-back dispenser and bin fills keep coming through the afternoon peak. It makes and stores nothing on its own: the RCUF-2200C condensing unit, interconnecting refrigerant lines, and storage bin are ordered separately, it will not accept the AuCS accessory, and operations that need closer to 1,000 lb a day can run the narrower RNF1020C instead. Plan on a 208-230V single phase circuit for the head at 3.2 amps minimum circuit ampacity, a 208-230V three phase supply for the condensing unit, a 3/8 in. water inlet, and a 1/2 in. drain.
Bite-Size Nugget Ice with an 85% Ice-to-Water Ratio
Nugget ice comes off the evaporator in small pieces from 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. in width and length, with an 85% ice-to-water ratio that delivers maximum cooling with minimal drink dilution. The soft, chewable texture keeps its dispensability at scale, and for dispenser applications Manitowoc calls for the K00488 ice level management kit. The head is shown on a D570 bin, with adapters available for D-970, F-1325, F-1650, and FC-1350 storage bins.
Rated Output at 70°F and 90°F Rating Points
Manitowoc publishes output at both industry rating points: 1,915 lb per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, and 1,475 lb in the harsher 90°F air and 70°F water condition, so you can size the system on the room you actually have rather than a best-case number. The head holds spec across a 50°F to 110°F ambient range and 37°F to 90°F incoming water, with ice-making water pressure between 14 and 80 psi.
QuietQube Remote System with Condensing Unit Sold Separately
The QuietQube system splits refrigeration away from the ice-making head: the remote condensing unit, interconnecting refrigerant lines, head section, and ice storage unit are all ordered separately, and the design is a Manitowoc system around the RCUF condensing unit, not for use with any other ice machine or remote condenser brand. Moving the condenser indoors or outdoors away from the machine improves efficiency and ice production, lowers the air conditioning load at the machine, and eliminates most refrigeration noise for a quieter room. The lighter head weight also simplifies installation, and the head and condensing unit are powered independently of each other.
Refrigerant Line Runs to 100 Ft with a 35 Ft Rise Limit
The RCUF-2200C condensing unit runs on 208-230V, 60 Hz three phase service, rejects 15,700 BTU per hour on average with a 3 HP nominal compressor, and operates from -20°F to 120°F, so it can sit outdoors through winter and summer. Refrigerant lines can run up to 100 ft, rise up to 35 ft above the head, or drop 15 ft below it; a rise over 20 ft requires the S-Trap Kit K-00172, ordered separately, and the standard RC-51 line set covers 50 ft.
Stainless Steel Head with Modular Bin and Dispenser Options
A stainless steel exterior gives the head a clean, modern look for self-serve environments, and the evaporator is designed for maximum ice quality and operating life. HACR-type circuit breakers can be used in place of fuses on both circuits. At 279 lb shipping weight and 30.00 in. wide by 23.62 in. deep by 27.40 in. tall, the head mounts on a separately purchased bin using adapter K-00470 for the D-970, K-603030 for the F-1325 or F-1650, or K-613030 for the FC-1350.
