The Omcan 23544 Meat Slicer
The Omcan MS-CN-0350 is a 14-inch belt-driven meat slicer with a 0.5 HP (370W) motor that turns the blade at 240 RPM. The 14-inch blade is larger than the 12-inch models common in small delis, giving you a cutting area of 12.59 by 14 inches that handles full primal cuts and large cheese blocks without repositioning. Cut thickness adjusts from 0.01 in. for paper-thin prosciutto up to 0.59 in. for thick sandwich slices, covering the full range most deli operations need.
Hard-Chromed High Carbon Steel Blade
The blade is high carbon steel with a hard chrome finish and hollow ground taper, which means it holds its edge longer between sharpenings and produces cleaner cuts with less tearing on soft meats and cheeses. The hollow ground profile also reduces friction as the product passes through, so the motor does not have to work as hard and the slices come off more consistently. When the blade does need sharpening, the taper design lets you restore the edge quickly without removing the blade from the machine.
Anodized Aluminum Body with Ball Bearing Carriage
The body is anodized aluminum alloy, which resists corrosion from the salts and acids in cured meats and cheeses better than bare aluminum. The carriage rides on ball bearings, so it glides back and forth with minimal effort even when loaded with a heavy piece of meat. This matters during a lunch rush when your deli person is slicing continuously for an hour. The machine disassembles easily for cleaning, which is important for food safety when you switch between raw and cooked products. At 130 pounds and 31 by 24 by 19.5 inches, this is a substantial slicer that belongs in a permanent deli station rather than being moved between locations.
