The Sealer Sales FKR-400 Bag Sealer
The Sealer Sales FKR-400 is a 16-inch portable direct-heat sealer for materials that an impulse sealer cannot bond. Direct heat means the jaws stay hot through the whole cycle and transfer heat continuously into the seal, which is exactly what thick films like cellophane, coated aluminum foil, Kraft paper, and similar non-poly materials need to bond. It is the right pick when you have a hand sealer on the bench but need to seal materials that impulse sealers cannot.
Direct Heat for Cellophane, Coated Foil, and Kraft Paper
The FKR-400 holds the jaws at a constant temperature rather than firing a brief impulse on each cycle. That makes it the right tool for cellophane, coated aluminum foil, Kraft paper, and other thicker non-poly films that need sustained heat to fuse. Note one important limitation: this unit cannot seal polyethylene. If you need to seal poly bags, choose an impulse sealer like the FKR-A series instead.
Adjustable Temperature with 5-10 Minute Warm-Up
An adjustable temperature controller lets the operator dial the heat level to match the film, with the controller calibrated up to about 390°F (200°C). Plan on a 5 to 10 minute warm-up window before the first seal of the day so the jaws reach setpoint. Once the unit is at temperature, the operator inserts the material between the jaws, closes them for a couple of seconds, and releases. Settings can be fine-tuned by feel until a satisfactory seal is consistent.
10 mm Serrated Seal Across a 15.7-Inch Span
The seal jaws are PTFE-coated and produce a 10 mm wide serrated seal. The full seal length is 400 mm (15.7 inches), enough for most large bags and irregular packages. Serrated profile gives the seal grip and visual texture without requiring a separate embossing tool.
Lightweight and Portable
At 4 pounds, the FKR-400 is light enough to carry around the shop floor or store on a shelf between jobs. The portable form factor makes it useful for finishing irregularly-shaped packages where a benchtop sealer would not fit. Do not touch the jaws until the unit has been switched off and allowed to cool.
