The Sealer Sales GWSZ-400 Direct Heat Sealer
The Sealer Sales GWSZ-400 is a portable hand-held direct-heat sealer with PTFE-coated jaws, a 15.7" (400mm) seal length, and a 12mm wide serrated seal. Designed and manufactured in Germany. Lightweight and portable for sealing heat-seal-compatible plastic film, aluminum foil, coated paper, and coated cellulose film around oddly-shaped products or in field locations.
Designed and Manufactured in Germany
German design and manufacturing sets this unit apart from the typical Asia-made portable sealers in this price range. German manufacturing standards mean tight tolerance on jaw closure, consistent heat distribution along the seal bar, and longer service life than equivalent units from lower-tier suppliers.
15.7" (400mm) Seal Length with 12mm Serrated Seal
The 15.7" seal length suits medium-sized package closures. The 12mm wide serrated seal pattern provides bond strength on thicker materials that smooth seal bars cannot match: the serrations increase contact area and prevent channel leaks at the seal seam.
PTFE-Coated Jaws Prevent Material Sticking
PTFE-coated jaws prevent materials from sticking to the seal bars as the seal cools. This matters most on coated paper, aluminum foil, and laminated films where bare metal jaws would either fuse to the substrate or lift the film during release. PTFE coating wears as a function of use; consider it a long-life consumable.
Seals Heat-Sensitive Substrates
Suitable for thicker materials. Compatible substrates include heat-seal-compatible plastic film, aluminum foil, coated paper, and coated cellulose film. Polyethylene is the exception: direct-heat sealers cannot seal polyethylene (the film melts through rather than bonding). For polyethylene use an impulse sealer in the W-series or FS-series instead.
Lightweight and Portable
Hand-held portable format weighs 3 lbs, light enough for sustained handling over a long sealing session without operator fatigue. Take the sealer to the package rather than bringing the package to a bench-mounted sealer. Useful for sealing around drum or carton liners, oversized bags, or any application where the package cannot easily move to a fixed-station sealer.
Easy Operation with Temperature Controller
Allow 5 to 15 minutes warm-up time depending on the material. Set the temperature controller to the desired setting; power and heat lamps illuminate when the unit is ready. Insert material between the jaws, close the jaws for a few seconds, then release. Increase or decrease timing until the seal meets quality requirements.
