The Alexander Industries PA-500 Food Pan Rack
The Alexander Industries PA-500 is an aluminum food pan rack that holds 36 12 x 20 in. pans, two per slide, on 3 in. centers. Any depth of 12 x 20 in. pan fits, so one rack can stage shallow hotel pans of prepped vegetables next to deep pans of sauce for a cafeteria line, a catering kitchen or a commissary. The rack rolls on four swivel casters and arrives knocked down for assembly, with factory assembly available as an option.
6061-T6 Aluminum Extrusion Frame
Uprights and cross members are 1 in. square 6061-T6 aluminum extrusion, and each tray runner is a 1-7/16 x 1-7/8 in. extrusion of the same alloy. Aluminum will not rust in a walk-in cooler or under a daily hose-down, and the extruded runner carries two full pans without sagging. Corners are tied together with .100 in. thick 3003-H14 aluminum brackets and aircraft quality aluminum rivets, so the frame stays square after years of being pushed through doorways.
5 In. Ball Bearing Swivel Casters
Four 5 in. swivel casters with ball bearings and non-marking hard rubber tires let one person move a full rack across tile or sealed concrete without leaving scuffs. Two locking casters can be added when your rack parks beside a steam table.
Optional Accessories
Alexander offers donut bumpers to protect walls and door frames, a tray stopper to keep pans from sliding off the open end, a sanitary rack cover for holding uncovered product, and a pair of locking casters. All fit this frame without modification.
