The Alexander Industries S-412 is a side loading aluminum bun pan rack that holds 20 full-size 18 x 26 in. bun pans on 3 in. centers. Pans slide in across the 26 in. dimension through the open 28 in. wide side, which suits bakeries, pizzerias and commissaries that load wide pans from a work table or park the rack against a wall with the long face out. The 3 in. slide spacing matches the 18-pan side loader, and the 72 in. tall frame adds two more slides for kitchens that want a few extra pans without a second rack. The rack rolls on four swivel casters and arrives knocked down for assembly, with factory assembly available as an option.

Side Loading for the Wide Pan User

Loading from the 26 in. side means the pan travels only 18 in. into the frame, so a loaded sheet pan seats with less reach than on an end loader. The 28 in. wide by 18 in. deep footprint sits flat against a wall and still leaves the whole pan face open for unloading.

6061-T6 Aluminum Extrusion Frame

Uprights and cross members are 1 in. square 6061-T6 aluminum extrusion, and each tray runner is a 1-7/16 x 1-7/8 in. extrusion of the same alloy. Aluminum does not rust in a walk-in cooler or under a daily hose-down, and the extruded runner carries a full pan without sagging. Corners are joined with .100 in. thick 3003-H14 aluminum brackets and aircraft quality aluminum rivets, so the frame stays square after years of doorway traffic.

5 In. Ball Bearing Swivel Casters

Four 5 in. swivel casters with ball bearings and non-marking hard rubber tires let one person roll a full rack across tile or sealed concrete without scuffs. Two locking casters can be added when the rack parks beside an oven or inside a proof box.

Optional Accessories

Alexander offers donut bumpers to protect walls and door frames, a tray stopper to keep pans from sliding out the open back, a sanitary rack cover for holding uncovered product, and a pair of locking casters. All fit this frame without modification.
