The Comstock-Castle HG48T-1-.5G Gas Griddle
The Comstock-Castle HG48T-1-.5G is a 48 inch wide countertop gas thermostatic griddle from the HG-T Series with a half grooved cooking surface, built in Quincy, Illinois on the same heavy-duty body as the CCHG thermostatic griddles. It runs four stainless steel U shaped burners at 30,000 BTU each, one per 12 inch section, for 120,000 BTU total, and ships set up for natural gas or propane as you specify.
You get grill marks on steaks and chicken from the grooved half and a smooth surface for eggs and pancakes on the other, with thermostatic control instead of the flare-ups and temperature swings of a charbroiler.
1 Inch Plate, Half Grooved and Half Smooth
The plate is 1 inch high polish cold rolled alloy steel with half of the cook surface grooved, so one side leaves char style grill marks while the other runs as a flat top, 22.25 inches deep, with seams welded to prevent gap seepage. A 3 inch grease trough across the front drains into a 1.5 gallon stainless steel grease drawer.
Thermostat Control Every 12 Inches, 200 to 450 Degrees F
Each 12 inch section has its own thermostat adjustable from 200 to 450 degrees F, with front accessible automatic standing pilots and pressure regulators. Optimal pressure is 5 inch WC on natural gas and 10 inch WC on propane, with a 3/4 inch manifold connection.
Double Wall Stainless Steel Body on 4 Inch Adjustable Legs
Stainless steel double wall construction with a 3.25 inch bull nose landing across the front and 4 inch tall adjustable legs. The unit is 30 inches deep and 16.5 inches high. ETL design and ETL Sanitation (ANSI-NSF 4) certified.
About Comstock-Castle
Founded in 1838 in Quincy, Illinois, Comstock-Castle is America's oldest stove manufacturer still in operation. The company grew from a frontier hardware shop into a grey-iron foundry that helped make Quincy the nation's stove-production hub by the early 1900s. Seven generations later, Comstock-Castle still designs and union-builds commercial cooking equipment in the same Quincy facility, with ranges, griddles, charbroilers, fryers, and modular cook lines configurable from 24 to 72 inches to match your menu. Built to outlast the kitchens that put them on the line.
