The Everest EBF2-LAB is the full-width two door freezer at the top of Everest's LAB Series, built for labs, pharmacies, and research facilities whose frozen sample volume has outgrown a single door. Two solid stainless steel doors, each 26 1/2 inches across, open onto a shared 33 cubic foot interior held at a -4°F factory preset by a pair of 1/2 HP inverter compressors that modulate output instead of cycling hard on and off, for consistent cooling with up to 20 percent less energy use. A pre-installed electronic keypad lock re-locks the cabinet after every opening, which is the difference between secure frozen storage and a freezer that is only locked when someone remembers.

Bottom Mounted Blizzard R290 Cartridge that Swaps without On-Site Brazing

The condensing unit is a bottom mounted, self-contained Blizzard R290 cartridge that is fully detachable and replaceable in the field with no on-site brazing. Unlike a conventional sealed system repair that parks the cabinet out of service while a technician opens the refrigerant circuit, a cartridge swap gets the unit back to holding temperature the same visit, which matters when the contents are samples and reagents you cannot simply reorder. Cooling comes from a pair of 1/2 HP inverter compressors rated at 2,808 BTU per hour combined, modulating their output instead of slamming on and off, the design behind the LAB Series' consistent cooling, accurate temperature control, and up to 20 percent lower energy use, all on a 3.3 amp draw. The cartridge runs natural R290 refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential and a global warming potential of three, and an air circulation guard keeps the vents from being blocked by carts or boxes pushed against the cabinet.

Electronically commutated fan motors pull the cavity to temperature quickly while drawing less power, and a full-length air duct and airflow guard keep the cold air circulating evenly around the load. The auto defrost heater is time-initiated and temperature-terminated, so each defrost lasts only as long as the coil actually needs. A self-maintaining condensate pan requires no external drain line or electric heater, which is one less penetration in your install, the auto-reverse condenser fan supports compressor ventilation and helps keep the coil clean between service visits, and pressure relief devices let staff re-open a just-closed door instead of waiting out the vacuum.

Each of the two solid stainless steel doors is heavy duty stainless inside and out with the same 2.5 inch high density polyurethane insulation as the cabinet walls, and the 26 1/2" openings pass trays and bulky containers without angling them through. A pre-installed electronic keypad lock with an auto-lock feature secures the cabinet behind every opening, so controlled materials are never sitting behind a door someone forgot to lock. Both doors self-close through an adjustable torsion system for a positive seal, frame heaters prevent exterior moisture build up in humid rooms, the snap-in magnetic gaskets pop out for cleaning without tools, and the high strength recessed handles stay out of the way of passing carts. Inside is a single open compartment with no dividing walls, and the cabinet body runs a deeper 33 1/8 inches than a typical upright so bulk containers sit fully inside the cavity instead of crowding the door. Six epoxy coated steel wire shelves, three per section, ride height adjustable stainless steel clips, so shelf spacing follows your containers rather than the other way around. A covered access port, 2 inches in diameter, passes through the cabinet side wall and stays capped when not in use. The interior and exterior are heavy duty stainless steel with rounded corners that wipe down without snagging, the top, bottom and rear are galvanized steel, and 2.5 inch high density polyurethane insulation fills the walls. Digital Controller that Holds -10°F to 54°F with a Glycol-Filled Probe and an Overheat Alarm

A multi-function digital controller with an easy to read LED display ships factory preset at -4°F and adjusts across a set range of -10°F to 54°F. Its temperature probe is glycol-filled, which is what keeps the readings accurate, and an audible overheat alarm watches the compressor and condenser coil so a developing problem announces itself before frozen stock is at risk. Everest backs the unit with 2 year parts and labor, 5 year electrical, and 5 year compressor coverage, supported through its service agent network.

If the stock configuration does not match your room, Everest offers a WiFi data logger built for the LAB line (model ELWIFI-TPX+), additional shelving, 3 inch locking swivel casters in place of the standard 5 inch set, height adjustable interchangeable legs from 3.5 to 6 inches, and a left hinged door.
