The Everest EGC65 is the flagship of the EGC Series, a 65 inch solid slide lid glass and plate chiller for high-volume bars, beer halls, and banquet kitchens that frost glassware by the rack and stage chilled plates beside it. The chest runs a true freezer-class range, -10°F to 54°F with a factory preset of -4°F, so glassware comes off the rail frosted instead of merely cool, and the 21 cubic foot interior stages up to 290 eight-inch mugs behind two slide lids over wide 30 1/4 inch openings.

Retractable Blizzard R290 Cartridge that Swaps without On-Site Brazing

The condensing unit is a self-contained, retractable Blizzard R290 cartridge that is fully detachable and replaceable in the field with no on-site brazing. Unlike a conventional sealed system repair that can park the chiller in a back hallway while a refrigeration tech opens the circuit, a cartridge swap puts the unit back behind the bar the same visit. The cartridge runs EPA-compliant R290 refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential and a global warming potential of three.

Electronically commutated fan motors pull the chest down to freezer temperatures while drawing less energy, and a full-length air duct keeps cold air moving across the glassware instead of pooling under the lids. The defrost cycle is time-initiated and temperature-terminated with its own defrost heater, so frost on the coil never gets a vote, and condensate evaporates from a self-maintaining drain pan with no external drain. Large capacity, corrosion-resistant condenser and evaporator coils carry the cooling load, while a high performance, auto-reverse condenser fan supports compressor ventilation and helps keep the condenser coil clean.

Each solid slide lid is built like the cabinet it covers: heavy duty stainless steel outside, galvanized steel inside, with 3/4 inch of high density polyurethane insulation in between, so sliding one station open does not bleed the frost off the rest of the load. Removable ratchet locks keep your items safe from theft overnight, and the chest below holds 290 eight-inch mugs or the mixed glassware and plate load that actually fills 21 cubic feet.

Inside, the chest is open spaced with no walls between compartments. Seven epoxy coated, steel wire shelves ride on two sliding levels, so the bartender pulls a shelf toward the light instead of digging blind, and stacked plates ride a level of their own above the galvanized steel interior floor.

A multi-function digital controller with an easy to read LED display holds the chest anywhere from -10°F to 54°F, factory preset at -4°F. That is a freezer-class range, not a cold refrigerator: mugs come out frosted white for the pour, and the same chest dialed warmer holds salad plates and dessert plates at a serving chill. An audible overheat protection alarm watches the compressor and condenser coil and warns you before a ventilation problem costs you the frost.

Everest supports the unit with optional 3 inch or 5 inch swivel casters with locks that thread into the built-in receptacles, plus 3.5 inch to 6 inch height-adjustable, interchangeable legs.

The EGC65 is the capacity ceiling of the family, sized for bars that never want the frost supply to be the bottleneck: the EGC50 covers two stations at 230 mugs in 15 fewer inches, and the single lid EGC37 handles a one-station rail at 160. It is a freezer-class chest, so it frosts glassware and chills plates but is not a bottle cooler; the EBC siblings handle canned and bottled backstock at refrigerator temperatures.
