The Everest Refrigeration ESWQ2D2 Reach In Dual Temperature
The Everest ESWQ2D2 is the three-quarter chilled, one-quarter frozen member of Everest's ES Series door and drawer combo family, built for kitchens that live on refrigerated prep and only need a working stash of frozen product, not a whole freezer section. A wide 28 1/8 inch solid door on the left and two stainless steel drawers at station height on the right keep 39 cubic feet refrigerated, while the half door above the drawers closes off a 13 cubic foot freezer for the backup that one quarter of the box covers. All of it stands in one 59 inch wide upright on a single cord, under 32 inches deep so it holds the same wall line as your worktables.
Slide-Out Blizzard R290 Cartridge that Swaps without On-Site Brazing
Each zone runs its own top mounted, self-contained Blizzard R290 cartridge, fully detachable and replaceable in the field with no on-site brazing: a 1/4+ HP unit rated 1,926 BTU per hour on the refrigerator side and a 1/3 HP unit rated 2,311 BTU per hour on the freezer side. Unlike a conventional sealed system repair that can park a cabinet out of service while a refrigeration tech opens the circuit, a cartridge swap gets the box back to work the same visit, and a problem in one zone never takes down the other. Both cartridges run natural R290 refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential and a global warming potential of three.
Electronically commutated fan motors pull both compartments to temperature quickly while drawing less power, and the auto defrost cycle starts on a timer and ends on temperature, so it runs only as long as the coils need. The condensate pan maintains itself with no external drain line or electric heater, which is one less floor penetration in your install. Auto-reverse condenser fans support compressor ventilation and help keep the coils clean between cleanings, and pressure relief devices let staff re-open a just-closed door instead of waiting out the vacuum.
One Wide Solid Refrigerator Door, a Half Door Freezer and Two Refrigerated Ball-Bearing Drawers
Both doors are heavy duty stainless steel inside and out with the same 2.5 inch high density polyurethane insulation as the cabinet walls, so pulling chilled product never spills the freezer's air and vice versa. Each self-closes through an adjustable torsion system for a positive seal, carries a high strength recessed handle that will not catch passing carts, and comes with a pre-installed lock; the locks cover the doors only, not the drawers. The two refrigerated drawers ride in thick gauge stainless steel frames on low-friction ball bearings, so a loaded drawer rolls out with one hand instead of fighting the cook mid-rush. Snap-in magnetic gaskets on the doors and drawers pop out for cleaning or replacement without tools, and frame heaters prevent exterior moisture build up on humid days.
39 Cu. Ft. Refrigerator and a 13 Cu. Ft. Freezer Quarter Split by an Insulated Interior Wall
An insulated interior wall closes the freezer quarter off from the refrigerated space, so the frozen zone holds deep temperatures without dragging the chilled side below its setpoint, unlike a single-cavity cabinet asked to do two jobs. Four epoxy coated steel wire shelves on height adjustable stainless steel clips split between the wide door section and the freezer. The interior and exterior are heavy duty stainless steel with rounded corners that will not snag knuckles or towels, the top, bottom and rear are galvanized steel, and 2.5 inch high density polyurethane insulation fills the cabinet walls. A full-length air duct and airflow guard keep cold air moving through each compartment, and silicone coated, shatter-proof LED lighting gives bright, high color illumination with low heat output. The cabinet rolls on four 5 inch swivel casters with locks on the front set.
Independent Digital Controls that Hold 33°F to 54°F Chilled and -10°F to 54°F Frozen
Each compartment runs on its own multi-function digital control with an easy to read LED display, the refrigerator factory preset at 35°F and adjustable from 33°F to 54°F, the freezer preset at -4°F and adjustable from -10°F to 54°F. Dial one zone without touching the other as your menu shifts. An audible overheat alarm watches the compressors and condenser coils and sounds before a developing problem turns into lost product. Everest backs the unit with 3 year parts and labor, 5 year electrical, and 10 year compressor coverage, supported through its service agent network.
If the stock configuration does not match your line, Everest offers additional shelving, 3 inch locking swivel casters in place of the standard 5 inch set, and height adjustable interchangeable legs from 3.5 to 6 inches.
The three-to-one split earns its keep where chilled prep dominates and frozen is a reserve; an operation pulling frozen product all day outgrows the 13 cubic foot quarter and is better matched by the even-split dual temp in the same series, while an all-chilled kitchen gets more usable room from a straight wide-door refrigerator. Power is a standard 115V connection on a 9 foot cord, with no dedicated high-voltage circuit needed.
