The Hydra-Kool KGV-MR-4-S is the self-contained version of the four-door grab-and-go case, packing 75.26 cubic feet of refrigerated display and dual 5/8 HP compressors into a single unit. At nearly 100 inches wide, it offers the same merchandising capacity as the remote model but eliminates the need for external refrigeration lines, which simplifies installation in locations where running copper to a remote rack is not practical. The dual compressor setup splits the electrical load across two circuits, and both front and rear doors give you the same customer-facing and staff-facing access as the remote version.
Front and Rear Loading with Forced Air Cooling and Night Curtain
The front of the case uses hinged tempered glass doors that let customers browse and grab items directly, while solid rear loading doors give your staff a separate restocking path that does not interrupt the shopping side. Each section holds five adjustable shelves that can be tilted and fitted with product stops, so bottles, cans, and packaged items stay put even on an angle. A retractable night curtain pulls down across the front opening after hours, helping the case hold temperature overnight and reducing compressor run time when the store is closed.
Forced air refrigeration keeps the interior between 33 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and a digital controller manages both temperature and defrost cycles. The case uses R404a refrigerant and is rated for environments up to 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 55 percent relative humidity. A floor drain connection is required for condensate removal, and the case must be hard-wired with no plug.
LED Lighting and Multiplexable Construction
LED strips in the canopy and under each shelf illuminate products from above and below, keeping labels readable and colors accurate without adding meaningful heat to the cabinet. Unlike fluorescent tubes that need regular replacement, LEDs maintain consistent brightness across thousands of hours and draw less power, which helps offset overall energy consumption on a case this size.
The exterior features a silver PVC-coated steel front panel with foamed polystyrene black end panels and a black steel kick plate. When you need a longer merchandising run, multiple cases can be joined side by side using optional joining kits, and the end panels on interior units can be removed for a seamless look. The interior is PVC-coated steel in gray for easy wipe-down cleaning, and CFC-free injected foam insulation lines the cabinet walls. Standard leveling feet keep the unit stable on uneven floors.
