The IKON IRSB-36 is a 36-inch gas salamander broiler with three 15,000 BTU infra-red burners producing 45,000 BTU total. Three independent 12-inch cook zones give you 36 inches of broiling width, enough to handle a full line of plates during a dinner rush or brown multiple hotel pans of casseroles and gratins at once. At 36 inches wide and 24.7 inches deep, it mounts over a 36-inch, 48-inch, or 60-inch gas range using the optional SM36-RA bracket, wall-mounts under an exhaust hood with the optional SM-WMK kit, or operates on a countertop using the included 4-inch adjustable stainless steel legs. 15,000 BTU Infra-Red Burners in Independent 12-Inch Cook Zones
Each 12-inch cook zone has its own dedicated infra-red burner producing 15,000 BTU of radiant heat directed downward onto the food. Infra-red energy heats the surface of steaks, chicken, fish, or vegetables directly rather than heating the air around them first, which means you get faster browning and caramelization with less moisture loss compared to a standard convection broil. Each burner operates on its own manual control, so you can run one zone at full blast for searing while keeping another on medium for melting cheese or finishing a gratin. Standing pilot ignition on each burner gives you instant flame without an electrical connection. A full-width broiler pan catches drippings and grease below the rack, making cleanup straightforward at the end of service.
Four-Position Spring-Balanced Rack with Ball Grip Handle
The cooking rack adjusts to four height positions so you can control how close the food sits to the infra-red burners. Moving the rack up puts steaks or fish fillets within two to three inches of the burners for a hard sear, while dropping it to the lowest position gives you a gentler heat for melting, browning casserole tops, or toasting bread without burning. The spring-balanced mechanism holds the rack steady at each position without slamming or drifting, and the ball grip handle stays cool enough to adjust with a towel mid-service. The front and sides are 304 stainless steel in 16-gauge thickness, which holds up to the intense heat cycling of a salamander and cleans up easily after a shift of spattering grease and cheese. Four-inch adjustable stainless steel legs with non-skid feet are included for countertop operation, or you can mount the unit directly over a gas range using optional SM24-RA or SM36-RA brackets, or wall-mount it under an exhaust hood with the optional SM-WMK kit.
