Manitowoc AR-20000-P 20,000 Gallon Arctic Pure Plus Primary Water Filter System for Ice Machines 601 to 1,000 lb/day, 0.5 Micron with Scale Inhibitor

SKUAR-20000-P BrandManitowoc

The Manitowoc AR-20000-P Water Filtration System, for Ice Machines

The Manitowoc AR-20000-P is the middle of the three Arctic Pure Plus primary water filter systems, built for operators running a mid-size modular ice machine who want ice that tastes clean and a machine that stays off the descale-and-repair schedule. One 20,000 gallon cartridge treats the supply feeding a machine producing 601 to 1,000 lb of ice per day, cutting chlorine by an average of 95% and holding back sediment down to 0.5 micron at a maximum service flow of 1.25 gpm, so every batch across roughly six months of service freezes from cleaner water. Match the filter to your production: machines making up to 600 lb per day only need the AR-10000-P, while machines making 1,001 to 2,500 lb per day need the AR-40000-P. It is a treatment filter, not a disinfection device, so it cannot make microbiologically unsafe water safe, and it is rated for cold water commercial use only, not residential. Mount the head vertically on a 3/8 in. copper or polyethylene line with the cartridge hanging down, and leave 2.5 in. of clearance below it for changes.

0.5 Micron Silver-Impregnated Carbon Block Filtration

The K00494 cartridge inside this system filters down to 0.5 micron, reducing dirt and submicron particles and eliminating cryptosporidium and giardia cysts at or below the rated flow. The carbon block is silver impregnated, adding antimicrobial protection against bacteria, algae, mold, and slime on ice machine surfaces, so the water reaching the evaporator is working for the machine instead of against it. The AR-20000-P is sized for mid-size modular machines such as the IT0900, IBF0820C, and IBT1020C cubers, RFF0620, RFF1220C, and RFF1300 flakers, and RNF0620, RNF1020C, and RNF1100 nuggets.

SLOW PHOS Scale Inhibitor and 95% Average Chlorine Reduction

Scale is what shortens ice machine life, and this system meters SLOW PHOS slowly soluble polyphosphate into the water to inhibit scale formation and corrosion before minerals ever bake onto the evaporator. At the same time, an average 95% reduction of chlorine from the incoming supply means the ice tastes and smells fresher and clearer in the glass. Together the ultra-fine filtration, silver-impregnated carbon block, and polyphosphate feed give triple protection against the contaminants that cut into daily performance, maintenance frequency, and machine life.

Quarter-Turn Cartridge Changes Without Shutting Off the Water

When the cartridge is spent, twist it a quarter turn to the left to remove it and a quarter turn to the right to seat the new one; the water supply can stay on the whole time, so a change takes minutes and never idles the ice machine. Plan on a fresh cartridge every six months or whenever the pressure gauge reads below 35 psi, whichever comes first, and flush each new cartridge by running water through the filter for ten minutes before returning to service. Keep the system from freezing, since a frozen housing can crack and leak.

Compact Vertical-Mount Head With Built-In Pressure Gauge

The assembly measures 4.13 in. wide by 4.48 in. deep by 15.2 in. tall with mounting holes 1.5 in. from center, and the gauge up top gives you cartridge status at a glance instead of a guess. The kit includes the head, shroud, hardware, mounting assembly, and one K00494 cartridge, so it installs complete out of the box. A pre-filter is recommended for all applications to achieve maximum filtration efficiency and cartridge life; the Arctic Pure Plus AR-PRE-P sediment pre-filter fills that role ahead of this system.
