The Manitowoc CVDF3000 is the remote air-cooled condensing unit for the SF-3000C Quadzilla system, built for stadium, hotel, and institutional operators who need close to 3,000 lb of daily cube ice without a compressor running where guests and staff can hear it. Matched with the SDF3000C or SYF3000C Quadzilla ice machine head, the system produces up to 2,910 lb of ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water and holds 2,400 lb output even at a 90°F/70°F summer rating point, so a full dinner rush or a hot-weather beverage push does not outrun the supply. The 4.5 HP compressor and condenser fan sit on the roof or in a utility area, and the unit keeps making ice in ambient air from -20°F to 120°F, which a kitchen-bound self-contained machine cannot tolerate. This is a component, not a complete machine: the ice machine head, storage bin or dispenser, and interconnecting refrigerant lines are all ordered separately, and Manitowoc designs the pairing as a closed system, so it works only with SDF3000C and SYF3000C and cannot be matched to any other ice machine or condenser brand. If you cannot run a line set to a remote location, an air-cooled self-contained machine is the better format. Plan the install around a dedicated three-phase 208-230V circuit wired independent of the head, a line run of 100 ft or less, and an S-trap kit on any rise over 20 ft.

QuietQube remote systems relocate the 4.5 HP compressor and the condenser fan away from the ice machine head, eliminating most refrigeration noise from the room where the ice is made. The head section stays quiet and compact indoors while this unit rejects 40,000 BTU/hr on average and 46,000 BTU/hr at peak outdoors instead of into your air-conditioned space.

100 Ft Maximum Line Runs With 35 Ft of Vertical Rise

Refrigerant lines can run up to 100 ft between this unit and the ice machine head, with a maximum vertical rise of 35 ft above the head and a drop of 15 ft below it, which covers most rooftop and mechanical-room placements. Rises over 20 ft require the two K-00166 kits S-trap kits, and Manitowoc's matched interconnecting tubing kits (RC-24 (20 ft), RC-34 (30 ft), RC-54 (50 ft)) are ordered separately so the charge and line sizing stay within factory spec.

Outdoor Rated Down to 20 Below Zero for Year-Round Duty

The condensing unit is rated to operate from -20°F up to 120°F, so it holds production through winter cold snaps and rooftop summer heat alike. The head section indoors keeps its own standard operating limits while the weather exposure lands on this unit, which ships at 268 lb in a 52.50 in. wide by 26.00 in. deep by 26.00 in. tall housing sized for curb or frame mounting.

Independent Power Feed With HACR Breaker Compatibility

The unit takes its own 208-230V, 60 Hz, 3 phase standard supply, wired independent of the ice machine head's 115V circuit, so each piece of the system is protected and serviced on its own feed. Minimum circuit ampacity is 30 amps (3 ph) with a maximum fuse size of 35 amps (3 ph), and HACR-type circuit breakers can be used in place of fuses.
