Manitowoc IDT0900WM 780 lb Indigo NXT Marine Modular Ice Machine Head, Water-Cooled, Stainless Exterior, Dice Cubes

SKUIDT0900WM BrandManitowoc

The Manitowoc IDT0900WM Modular Full Cube Ice Machine Head

The Manitowoc IDT0900WM is the marine configuration of the Indigo NXT 850-class head, built for ship galleys and offshore foodservice where salt air corrodes standard equipment and electrical safety rules exceed shore-side codes. It produces up to 780 lb of dice ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water and holds 665 lb at the 90°F rating point, with a water-cooled, cupra-nickel condenser protected against salt water and a completely sealed cabinet on the front, back, top, and sides. An isolation switch cuts power to the entire unit instantly, and the build meets USPHS specifications for passenger-vessel sanitation; the smaller IDT0750WM covers vessels with lighter ice demand, and shore-side kitchens are better served by the standard IDT0900 heads. It is a head only, matched to the IBW-M4 marine bin sold separately, and it installs on 208-230V single phase service with separate 3/8 in. FPT ice-making and condenser water inlets, 1/2 in. drains, and only 2-3/4 in. of required back clearance.

Icon-Based Touch Screen with Programmable Ice Production

Every function runs through the icon-based easyTouch display, so whoever closes the kitchen can read operating status, start a cleaning mode, or check an alert without hunting for a manual; the interface offers 13 language options and keeps a date and time stamp with automatic reminder and alert icons. Programmable ice production is the money feature: schedule the machine off during peak electrical rates, cap it by daily production volume, or shift the work to night programming so the bin is full before the morning crew clocks in. One touch calls up asset information, and the controller automatically detects accessories as you add them, so upgrades register without a service visit.

Swing-Out Front Door with Removable Water-Path Components

Cleaning happens through a hinged front door that swings out of the way rather than a panel you unscrew and set aside. The water trough, distribution tube, curtain, water probe, water pump, and sensing components all remove from the food zone, so a deep clean is a fast, complete job instead of a reach-around compromise, and selected components are made with AlphaSan antimicrobial material that works between cleanings. The Indigo NXT automatic cleaning cycle also returns the machine to ice making without manual intervention, so a mid-voyage clean does not idle the bin. An optional LuminIce II inhibitor controls viruses and bacteria inside the food zone, with status indication on the display. For routine care you can go hands-off entirely: the iAuCS accessory schedules and performs cleaning cycles automatically, Arctic Pure Plus water filters strip sediment and chlorine down to 0.5 microns ahead of the machine, and an external scoop holder keeps the scoop off the bin rim.

Acoustical Ice Sensing Probe with 24 Hour Intelligent Diagnostics

Manitowoc's patented acoustical ice sensing probe reads the harvest acoustically rather than by simple contact, which keeps cycles reliable in challenging water conditions that confuse conventional sensors. Active Sense software works in conjunction with that probe, adjusting so every harvest lands consistently as conditions drift across the day, anywhere in the machine's 40°F to 110°F ambient and 40°F to 90°F water operating limits. Intelligent diagnostics watch the machine around the clock and surface preventative maintenance and diagnostic feedback right on the display, so a service tech arrives already knowing what the machine has reported instead of starting the diagnosis from zero.

Sealed Marine Exterior with High Grade Stainless Steel Panels

Every exterior panel is made from high grade stainless steel, with a stainless top cover, side panels, back panel, bulkhead, brackets, and fasteners, and the unit is completely sealed on the front, back, top, and sides against wash-down and salt spray. The condenser itself is cupra-nickel, a marine alloy that shrugs off the salt water that eats standard copper coils, and the whole build meets USPHS specifications with an isolation switch that cuts power to the entire unit in one throw. The refrigeration system runs R410A refrigerant in a hermetically sealed circuit, rejecting 12 of heat into the vessel's condenser water loop at up to 276 psi, so rated production holds inside an enclosed galley where an air-cooled machine would recirculate its own heat.
