Manitowoc RFF1300W 1365 lb Flake Ice Machine Head, Water-Cooled, 30 in. Wide, Stainless Steel

SKURFF1300W BrandManitowoc

The Manitowoc RFF1300W Flake Ice Machine

The Manitowoc RFF1300W is the water-cooled model of this two-model flake ice machine family, built for supermarkets, salad bars, and display-heavy operations whose equipment rooms run too hot for an air-cooled condenser to keep up. It produces up to 1,365 lb of flake ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water and still delivers 1,116 lb at the 90°F/70°F rating point, at just 3.12 kWh per 100 lb of ice, so display cases and salad bar pans stay bedded even in the hottest back-of-house conditions. The trade is water: the condenser circuit consumes 116 gal per 100 lb of ice on top of 12 gal of potable ice-making water, so operations paying steep water and sewer rates should compare the air-cooled RFF1300A before committing. Installation needs a 208-230V single phase circuit at 15 amps minimum circuit ampacity, separate 3/8 in. inlets for ice-making and condenser water, condenser and ice-making drains, and 8 in. of top and side clearance with 5 in. at the back.

Small Hard Flake Ice for Food Display and Cold Therapy

Flake ice is small hard bits of ice ideally suited to presentation work: it forms around product without bruising and holds items in place without tipping or spilling. That behavior makes it the working standard for food displays, salad bars, and cold therapy and healthcare applications, where the ice bed itself is part of the service. This machine produces that flake continuously rather than in batch harvests.

Rated Output at 70°F and 90°F Rating Points

Manitowoc publishes output at both industry rating points: 1,365 lb per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, and 1,116 lb in the harsher 90°F air and 70°F water condition, the strongest hot-room number of the two models. Operating limits run 50°F to 110°F ambient and 37°F to 90°F incoming water, with ice-making water pressure of 14 to 80 psi and condenser inlet pressure of 20 to 150 psi; the water condenser is not for sea water applications.

10% Average Energy Improvement Over the Previous Model

Manitowoc rates this generation at energy improvements averaging 10% and ice production improvements averaging 5% over the previous model, and service updates facilitate installation and make cleaning easier. The water-cooled RFF1300W draws just 3.12 kWh per 100 lb of ice at the 90°F/70°F rating point, using 12 gal of potable water plus 116 gal of condenser water per 100 lb.

Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Cabinet with High-Load Bearings

The heavy-duty stainless steel cabinet resists corrosion, and high-load maintenance-free bearings carry the flake auger for enhanced reliability under continuous production. A 1.5 HP nominal compressor runs on R-404A refrigerant, and HACR-type circuit breakers can be used in place of fuses. The water-cooled condenser rejects only 1,500 BTU per hour on average into the room, carrying the rest away in the condenser water loop instead of heating the equipment area.

Modular Head for D-570 and 48 In. B-Style Bins

The head measures 30.00 in. wide by 23.62 in. deep by 27.40 in. tall and stores nothing itself; on a separately purchased D-570 bin the stack stands 77.40 in. tall with 430 lb of ice storage, with bin legs adjustable from 6.00 in. to 7.00 in. The K-00370 adapter mounts the head on 48 in. B-style bins, though it is not for use with large-capacity bins. Allow 8 in. of clearance at the top and sides and 5 in. at the back.
