Manitowoc RNP0620W 633 lb Modular Nugget Ice Machine Head, Water-Cooled, 22 in. Wide, Bite-Size Chewable Nuggets

SKURNP0620W BrandManitowoc

The Manitowoc RNP0620W Nugget Ice Machine

The Manitowoc RNP0620W is the water-cooled head in the RNP0620 nugget pair, built for hot or enclosed equipment rooms where an air-cooled condenser would recirculate its own heat. Because the condenser sheds heat to water instead of kitchen air, it produces up to 633 lb of bite-size nugget ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water and still delivers 545 lb at 90°F, the strongest hot-condition output in the 22 in. RNP cabinet, at just 4.19 kWh per 100 lb of ice. The tradeoff is condenser water, 153 gal per 100 lb of ice, so operations paying steep water rates or lacking a condenser loop should look at the air-cooled RNP0620A instead; either way you still need a D-420 bin or Multiplex dispenser below the head. Rough in a 115V, 60 Hz circuit fused at 20 amps, separate 3/8 in. potable and condenser water inlets, and 1/2 in. drains for each circuit.

Bite-Size Nuggets with an 85% Ice-to-Water Ratio

Nugget ice from the RNP0620W comes out in soft, chewable pieces averaging 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. in width and length. Its 85 percent ice-to-water ratio is one of the best in the category, so drinks get maximum cooling effect with minimal dilution, and the soft texture dispenses cleanly through beverage equipment. That combination is why nugget machines anchor soda fountains, smoothie programs, and cold-therapy service in the first place.

Rated Output at 70°F and 90°F Test Conditions

Manitowoc publishes production at both standard rating points: 633 lb of nugget ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, and 545 lb at 90°F air and 70°F water. Plan around the second number, because it reflects a working kitchen in warm weather. At that hotter rating the machine uses 4.19 kWh of power and 12 gal of potable water per 100 lb of ice plus 153 gal of condenser water.

High-Load Maintenance-Free Bearings for Enhanced Reliability

The ice-making drive rides on high-load, maintenance-free bearings, reinforcing the wear point that works hardest in a machine that produces ice around the clock. A 1 HP compressor runs a R290A refrigeration circuit, and R290 is the environmentally friendlier choice, with less ozone depletion than the R404 refrigerant it replaces. Operating limits span 50°F to 110°F ambient and 37°F to 90°F incoming water, with inlet pressure between 14 and 80 psi.

Modular Head for D-Style Bins and Multiplex Dispensers

The RNP0620W is a machine head only: it makes ice but stores none. Set it on a D-420 storage bin and the stack stands 76.00 in. tall on 6 in. bin legs while holding 310 lb of nugget reserve, or mount it on a Multiplex beverage dispenser for direct soft-drink service. A K00472 adapter lets the 22 in. head sit on 30 in. D-style bins. When dispensing, verify with the dispenser manufacturer that the correct agitator and deflector kit for nugget ice is included.

8 In. Top and Side Clearances with Rear-Intake Airflow

Manitowoc calls for 8 in. of clearance at the top and sides and 5 in. at the back, with cooling air entering at the rear and exhausting out the sides, so the head holds its rating inside an equipment lineup. Minimum circuit ampacity is 13.5 amps with a 20 amp maximum fuse, and HACR-type circuit breakers can be used in place of fuses.
