The Manitowoc RNP1100A Nugget Ice Machine
The Manitowoc RNP1100A is the highest-capacity air-cooled head in the RNP modular nugget line, built for convenience stores, healthcare facilities, and high-volume fountain service that fill dispensers around the clock. It produces up to 1078 lb of bite-size nugget ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water and keeps 825 lb coming in a 90°F equipment room, so multiple dispenser points can draw from one 30 in. wide head at 4.94 kWh per 100 lb of ice. It stores nothing on its own and will not accept the AuCS accessory, so plan on a D-570 bin or dispenser below it; operations without three-figure daily ice demand get a better fit from the 22 in. RNP0620A. Electrical service is 208-230V, 60 Hz fused at 20 amps, with a 3/8 in. water line, a 1/2 in. drain, and 8 in. of top and side clearance to rough in.
Bite-Size Nuggets with an 85% Ice-to-Water Ratio
Nugget ice from the RNP1100A comes out in soft, chewable pieces averaging 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. in width and length. Its 85 percent ice-to-water ratio is one of the best in the category, so drinks get maximum cooling effect with minimal dilution, and the soft texture dispenses cleanly through beverage equipment. That combination is why nugget machines anchor soda fountains, smoothie programs, and cold-therapy service in the first place.
Rated Output at 70°F and 90°F Test Conditions
Manitowoc publishes production at both standard rating points: 1078 lb of nugget ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, and 825 lb at 90°F air and 70°F water. Plan around the second number, because it reflects a working kitchen in warm weather. At that hotter rating the machine uses 4.94 kWh of power and 12 gal of potable water per 100 lb of ice.
High-Load Maintenance-Free Bearings for Enhanced Reliability
The ice-making drive rides on high-load, maintenance-free bearings, reinforcing the wear point that works hardest in a machine that produces ice around the clock. A 1.5 HP compressor runs the R404A refrigeration circuit, and the evaporator is designed for maximum ice quality and operating life. Operating limits span 50°F to 100°F ambient and 45°F to 90°F incoming water, with inlet pressure between 20 and 70 psi.
Modular Head for D-Style Bins and Multiplex Dispensers
The RNP1100A is a machine head only: it makes ice but stores none. Set it on a D-570 storage bin and the stack stands 77.36 in. tall on 6 in. bin legs while holding 430 lb of nugget reserve, or mount it on a Multiplex beverage dispenser for direct soft-drink service. When dispensing, verify with the dispenser manufacturer that the correct agitator and deflector kit for nugget ice is included. Note that this model will not accept the AuCS accessory.
8 In. Top and Side Clearances with Rear-Intake Airflow
Manitowoc calls for 8 in. of clearance at the top and sides and 5 in. at the back, with cooling air entering at the rear and exhausting out the sides, so the head holds its rating inside an equipment lineup. Minimum circuit ampacity is 14.2 amps with a 20 amp maximum fuse, and HACR-type circuit breakers can be used in place of fuses.
