The Manitowoc SDT3000W Modular Full Cube Ice Machine Head
The Manitowoc SDT3000W is the dice-cube model of the water-cooled ST3000W pair, a 3,000 lb class machine head built for stadiums, hospitals, hotels, and central ice rooms that outrun ordinary modular machines. Its Quadzilla evaporator system puts four high-output individual evaporators in one 48 in. wide head, producing up to 3,000 lb of dice ice per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water (2,558 lb at 90°F air and 70°F water) at just 3.69 kWh per 100 lb of ice, so one machine can keep a banquet operation, concession stands, and ice bagging supplied from a single LB-series bin. The trade for water-cooled efficiency is 140 gal of condenser water per 100 lb of ice, so operations without an economical water loop should consider the remote air-cooled SYF3000C instead; the SYT3000W is the half-dice version of this same machine. Plan on a 208-230V three-phase circuit, a 3/8 in. potable water line, 3/4 in. condenser water lines, and 3/4 in. drains; the storage bin, deflector, and adapter are sold separately.
Four Quadzilla Evaporators in One 48 In. Wide Machine Head
The Quadzilla evaporator system places four high-output individual evaporators inside a head measuring 48 in. wide by 31 in. deep by 36 in. tall, which is how this machine reaches 3,000 lb of daily dice production from a footprint that fits a standard 60 in. wide LB-series bin. The dice cube measures 7/8 in. x 7/8 in. x 7/8 in., a shape that packs tightly in glassware and dispensers and melts slowly in beverage service. Energy use runs 3.69 kWh per 100 lb of ice at the 90°F/70°F rating point, with potable water use of 21 gal per 100 lb.
Stainless Steel Exterior with Corrosion-Resistant Refrigeration Components
The stainless steel exterior stands up to the wash-downs and cart traffic of a central ice room, and the cupra-nickel condenser adds protection from corrosive water elements that shorten the life of ordinary water-cooled condensers. Select components are made with AlphaSan antimicrobial, patented ice harvest technology reduces energy requirements on every cycle, and the system runs on R410A CFC-free refrigerant with 48 percent less global warming potential. High-pressure water regulating valves let the machine accept building supply pressure from 20 psi all the way to 350 psi without an external regulator.
208-230V Three-Phase Power with HACR-Compatible Circuit Protection
The machine runs on a 208-230V, 60 Hz, three-phase circuit with 30 amps of minimum circuit ampacity and a 30 amp maximum fuse size, and HACR-type circuit breakers can be used in place of fuses. A 5.0 HP nominal compressor drives the four evaporators, rejecting 45,000 BTU per hour average and 51,000 peak to the condenser water loop, which uses 140 gal per 100 lb of ice and discharges at 100°F to 110°F. The machine holds spec from 40°F to 110°F ambient with 40°F to 90°F potable water and 35°F to 110°F condenser water.
LB1460 and LB1760 Storage Bins with Required Deflector and Adapter Kits
The head tops an LB1460 bin holding 1,366 lb of ice or an LB1760 holding 1,693 lb, both 60 in. wide with the bin drain located in the exact center; combined height runs 91 in. on the LB1460 and 103 in. on the LB1760 with legs set at 6 in. Pair the machine with the K00391 deflector and the KLB604800 adapter for these bins, the KLB614800 adapter for an LBCS1360, or the K00396 deflector on an LB1448; every bin and kit is sold separately. Manitowoc recommends 8 in. of clearance at the top and sides and 24 in. at the back, with 24 in. preferred on all sides for service access.
