The Omcan 41710 Meat Slicer
This Omcan slicer puts a 9 inch belt-driven blade on a gravity-feed carriage, sized for restaurants, coffee shops, and home kitchens that slice deli meats and vegetables a few orders at a time. The slice thickness regulator sets the cut anywhere from 0.2 to 15 mm, the carriage glides on ball bearings, and the machine runs on 110 volt, 60 Hz single phase power through a NEMA 5-15 plug on a footprint 19.5 inches wide by 17 inches deep. It is rated for slicing sessions under 30 minutes and is meant for low volume operations.
9-Inch Hard-Chromed High Carbon Steel Blade
The blade is high carbon steel with a hard chrome plating and a hollow ground taper for extended sharpening and blade life. A built-in sharpener pulls out and turns through a half turn to bring its two stones to the edge: the first stone grinds for about two minutes with the machine running, then a 3 second pass on the second stone removes the burr. Omcan recommends sharpening daily, and drying the blade after use with a wipe of cooking oil on the edge to keep it from rusting.
Blade Lock for Safe Disassembly
A blade lock holds the blade still for added safety while you strip the machine down for cleaning, and the parts are designed for easy removal and disassembly. The machine, including the product carriage, is cleaned every day with a damp cloth and detergent, with the blade cover removed from the blade and the thickness regulator set to zero. Chemical or abrasive cleaners and brushes are not to be used, and the machine is not waterproof, so it is never run under water.
Ball Bearing Carriage with Gravity Feed
The carriage rides on ball bearings, and you push it forward and back over the blade in a continuous motion using the product pusher handle and the pusher knob. Slice thickness is set by turning the regulator counterclockwise and then turning the fixing positioner knob clockwise until its head contacts the plate. The cut area accepts product up to 6.29 by 6.29 inches. The carriage guides take a coat of grease weekly and the pusher axle a wipe of cooking oil daily.
Belt-Driven 0.16 HP Motor
A 0.12 kW motor spins the blade counterclockwise at 300 RPM through a 288 by 22 mm polyurethane belt. A pilot lamp in the power button lights while the machine runs. The motor is matched to short sessions, and frozen meat and cheese are not to be cut on this machine; keep it on thawed meats and produce.
