This Omcan countertop vegetable chopper dices lettuce, onion and other vegetables into 1/2 inch squares with one pull of the lever, in significantly less time than chopping by hand. The scalloped blade grid covers a 7 x 7 inch cutting area. It is entirely manual, no cord and no outlet, so it sets up anywhere on the prep line, but check your counter clearance: the unit stands 29 inches tall. Set it on its non-slip feet and clean it thoroughly before the first batch; a storage container for the cut product is not included.

Hold the lever up, place the product on the blades, take your hands clear of the cutting area and bring the lever down firmly; the push plate forces the product through the blade grid in one stroke.

The 7 x 7 inch grid gives you a square cutting area for each load, and every piece comes out at the same 1/2 inch size, so a variety of vegetables such as lettuce and onion can be diced in a fraction of the time. The lever locks in the down position with the pin for safety between batches, and locks in the up position, with the pin through the lever and link bars, so the blade and holder assembly can be removed safely.
Pusher Disassembles for Fast Cleanup
The pusher disassembles easily for cleaning: remove the pin, move the lever out of the way, and lift the push plate off the guide rods. Release the hold-down clips and the blade and holder assembly lifts off the frame; it can be completely disassembled by removing the machine screws on its underside. Clean the chopper before and after each use, go easy on alkaline cleansers, which can pit and dull the finish, and if the push plate stops sliding freely, lubricate the guide rods with mineral oil or a food-grade lubricant rather than cooking oil.
Manual Lever with Non-Slip Feet
There is no motor to maintain and nothing to plug in; the lever drives the push plate, and the non-slip feet give extra stability while you work the stroke. The base assembly carries four legs with rubber feet, and the unit weighs 14.8 pounds.
