High Carbon Steel Blade with Hollow Ground Taper
The 8" blade is high carbon steel with a hard chrome plating and hollow ground taper. The hollow grind means the blade gets thinner toward the edge in a concave profile, which produces cleaner cuts through deli meats and reduces drag compared to flat-ground blades. That taper also extends the life of the blade between sharpenings because there is more material to work with before the edge geometry changes. The carriage rides on ball bearings, so it glides smoothly without the operator having to force the product through. Cut thickness adjusts from 0 to 0.59" (0 to 0.59 in.), and the maximum cutting area of 6.3" x 5.5" handles standard deli meat rolls and small cheese blocks.
Belt-Driven 150W Motor at 300 RPM
The belt drive system transmits power from the 0.2 HP motor to the blade at 300 RPM. Belt-driven slicers run quieter than gear-driven models and generate less vibration, which makes the cutting action smoother and easier to control for precise, consistent slices. The lower blade speed compared to commercial gear-driven slicers is intentional for light-duty use since it reduces heat buildup in the blade and extends the time between sharpenings. Easy disassembly lets kitchen staff break down the carriage and blade guard quickly for cleaning between different products.
