The Westlake WKF-82B Reach-In Freezer
The Westlake WKF-82B is a three-section, bottom mounted reach-in freezer with three solid doors, a 81.5 in. wide cabinet in stainless steel inside and out. Its ventilated refrigeration system holds the cabinet at -8 °F to 0 °F, cold enough to keep cases of fries, portioned proteins, and tubs of ice cream hard between deliveries. The system is rated for kitchens up to 100 °F ambient, which covers a hot line in August. Three sections and 9 shelves make it the main freezer for a busy kitchen with no walk-in. It needs 81.5 in. of wall, and it stores product that arrives frozen; it is not built to freeze down a hot batch quickly. It arrives on preinstalled casters with brakes, plugs into a 115 V outlet through an 80 in. cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug, draws 6.3 A, and needs about 56.3 in. front to back with a door swung open.
Precision Ventilated Freezing with Electronic Control
A 1 HP compressor drives a precision ventilated system that moves cold air through the whole cabinet instead of letting it pool at the bottom. That matters when a cook stacks cases on the top shelf: the box on top stays as hard as the one at knee height. The cabinet holds -8 °F to 0 °F.
The electronic control lets you change the temperature set point and the defrost frequency from the controller. Out of the box the unit defrosts automatically every 6 hours, so frost does not build on the coil and choke airflow, and nobody has to empty the freezer to scrape it down.
Epoxy Coated Wire Shelves Rated at 155 lb Each
You get 9 epoxy coated steel wire shelves, 3 per section, and each one carries 155 lb. That is enough for full cases of product, stacked hotel pans, or a row of filled food storage containers without the shelf bowing. The epoxy coating is the difference between a shelf that wipes clean and bare steel wire that rusts after a few months of condensation and spilled brine.
Interior space measures 77.6 in. wide, 24.2 in. deep, and 59.7 in. high. Open wire also lets the moving air pass between levels, so a loaded shelf does not block the product under it.
Stainless Steel Interior and Exterior
The cabinet is stainless steel on the outside and on the inside. On the outside that means a surface that shrugs off cart bumps and degreaser. On the inside it means a liner you can wipe down after a leaking case of chicken without worrying about stains or cracked plastic. At 473 lb net, the cabinet has real mass and stays put once the caster brakes are set.
Self-Closing Solid Doors with Locks and LED Lighting
Each solid door closes itself behind you, so a cook carrying two pans does not have to kick it shut and it never hangs open through a rush. Push it to 90 degrees and it stays open, which is what you want when you are loading a delivery or pulling shelves to clean.
Full vertical LED lighting switches on when a door opens and off when it closes, lighting each shelf from the side so labels read clearly at the back. Locks and keys are included, so high-value product stays secured after close.
Bottom Mounted R290 System with Coated Copper Evaporator
The refrigeration system sits at the bottom of the cabinet, which keeps the compressor at floor level where a technician can reach it without a ladder. A removable installation board gives access to the condenser coil for cleaning and service; a coil that gets brushed off on schedule runs cooler and pulls less power than one packed with grease and flour dust.
The evaporator is an anti-corrosion coated copper coil. The coating shields the evaporator from the acids that tomatoes, citrus, and vinegar-based product give off, which corrode bare copper over time. The refrigerant is R290, a hydrocarbon with an ozone depletion potential of 0 and a global warming potential of 3.
Casters, Cord, and Placement
Heavy duty casters with brakes come preinstalled, so two people can roll the unit into position, lock it, and roll it back out when it is time to mop behind it. The cabinet measures 81.5 in. wide, 30.7 in. deep, and 81.9 in. high, with 56.3 in. of depth needed when a door is open. It runs on 115 V, single phase, at 6.3 A, and the 80 in. cord ends in a NEMA 5-15P plug.
